here is the URL (web address to the image)
http://community-2.webtv.net/chadnorris/pic/scrapbookFiles/importD1.gif
the FIRST thing you want to do is save a WebTV Scrapbook Uploader on one of your f-keys (it will make things so much easier for you later)
here are two good Scrapbook Uploaders:
Beth's Scrapbook Uploader by Mlski - Many tools here!
Lobone's PB Tools
after you've saved it on an f-key we are ready to begin.. take the url (file address) to the scrapbook uploader, delete the contents inside the address field (the line just under the gray button) and place your image file inside it..
now click the gray "Upload Image to Scrapbook" button
a gray pop up will come up that says:
You are about to add an image to your Webtv Scrapbook
Do you wish to Continue?
click the "Continue" button
Now you will see the contents of your Scrapbook
click on the image.. you will now see it with a solid black background.. in your status bar (the black bar type line at the very bottom of your screen) will show a name something like: importD1_gif
WRITE IT DOWN this is your image name.. now push your "Back" button
::Now look at the left sidebar::
it has Index, Clean Up, and Help
click "Index"
::On the left sidebar::
you see Create, Scrapbook, Clean Up, Examples, and Help
click "Create"
now at the top of the page it says:
"Choose a page style"
click on the little (+) plus sign in the upper right hand corner then click on the "Grey" page square (this is only going to be used for images)
now click "Add an Item" ...
click "Picture"
now it says:
"Get a new picture from:"
click "Your Scrapbook"
now it shows your scrapbook contents again
click on to the image
now the page says
"Change Picture and Caption"
in the title field put whatever you want the title to be (this can be left blank)
under the Caption field place the image name like : importD1.gif (notice the _ that was between 1 and g is now replaced with a dot) placing the name with the image now helps you later as you get more images you will know what the name for each image is
now click "Done" (in the lower right corner)
::Now you MUST publish the page to use the image::
on the left sidebar click "publish"
now you see "Title and Description for your page"
type your pages title (the title name will be included in the final url so you might want to choose a short name) and in the description just put something like "images used for email" or something
now click "Continue"
now you are ready to publish it.. it's your choice if you want it listed or not.. if not cick on the check mark and it will disappear...
now click "Publish" in the lower right corner
now it will show something like this...
"Congratulations! "Your page title here" is now
on the Web. It can be found at:
http://community-2.webtv.net/chadnorris/pic/
Would you like to:
send mail announcing your page?
add its address to your mail signature?
change the title or description?
(you can click on the address above to see my plain grey page I put my bear on, yours will be similar)
to get the final url for your image use the url they give you PLUS add scrapbookFiles/importD1.gif
the address will look something like this
http://community-2.webtv.net/chadnorris/pic/scrapbookFiles/importD1.gif
::: !-Please Note-! ::: in the url make sure and :::remove the -2 BEFORE using it in your email :::signature.. the final url should look something :::like this:
http://community.webtv.net/chadnorris/pic/scrapbookFiles/importD1.gif
(Please Note: when your scrapbook gets full sometimes the gif extension will be capitalized like GIF instead of gif)
in the url chadnorris is where your webtv email address will be... where pics is your page name will be... notice the word scrapbookFiles has a capital F in it... that's NOT the same as using a lower case f and the url will NOT work if you don't capitalize it..
you done it! bravo! ....now you can use the image in your email Congratulations!!! ... I know it seems like a lot of steps but you get use to things after awhile and it will start to become automatic and easier as time goes on... NEVER directly link other peoples images in your email or on a webpage... there's NO excuse for webtvers to do this while we have pagebuilder... directly linking means to use peoples image files and sound files WITHOUT uploading them or transloading them into YOUR OWN name.. to find out why you shouldn't do this you can go here :

if you would like to learn how to transload at the Freeloader go here :

if you have questions or need help uploading here's some excellant pagebuilder newsgroup where you can post your questions :

the webtv community is very friendly and helpful.. the only dumb question is one not asked.. so never be afraid to ask :-)
